PRESENTATION: Après avoir collectionné les projets dans sa région bordelaise natale puis intégré le CMDL de Didier Lockwood, le jeune pianiste Clément Simon n’a pas été long à se faire connaître au-delà des clubs parisiens.
Enregistré en quintette, ce premier album ambitieux allie terreau classique, influence des musiques traditionnelles et digressions rhythm’n blues, en un langage moderne et personnel qui puise aux sources du jazz pour mieux s’en affranchir.
“Man on the Moon” est un voyage initiatique, un décor d’ombres chinoises où se meuvent des silhouettes fantomatiques, une fresque épique où chaque composition, comme une chanson sans paroles, dessine les contours d’un rêve éveillé.

English: French pianist and composer Clément Simon spent his early years as a professional musician in his hometown Bordeaux, before graduating at Didier Lockwood’s CMDL in Paris.
Now recognized as a prominent band leader and a sought-after sideman, he presents his debut album featuring a blend of influences that range from classical music to traditional grooves, to film scores and RnB.
“Man On The Moon” is an epic voyage to the frontier of jazz music, a whimsical dream of shadows and illusions.
